Shipmates et al,

I would like to draw attention to an epic challenge that one of our shipmates is undertaking in the next week.

D118 Shipmate, Baz Avery, is self funding a climb to the Base Camp of Everest, wow! He is doing this to raise funds for FVF (Liberty Lodge) a most worthy cause and where many of us have stayed over recent years no doubt.

Baz has set a financial target and is not quite half way but every little helps in getting him closer to his goals. If you feel you would like to support Baz then follow this link below where you will find more information re this incredible challenge he is undertaking:

BZ Baz and on behalf of all your shipmates, we wish you well and stay safe shipmate.

Shipmates, families and friends of D118

It was sad to learn of the passing of David Irvine, 1st Lt in the early years of D118.

As Chairman, I have passed on condolences to his family by personal email and will also ensure he is remembered at our service on 25 May this year in Portsmouth.

Thinking of all my shipmates past and present at this time, as always.

Yours aye

Following my recent email in regards to our forthcoming reunion I have heard from B
Bernadette Irvine that her husband David Charles Irvine , Lt Cdr (RN Retd) had sadly passed away 7th October 2018, aged 77. I see from our records that David and Bernadette lived in Hobart, Tasmania.

Dear Shipmates et al,

It is that time of year again where I need to ask that you inform if you are intending to attend at this years Remembrance/Reunion on Sat 25 May 2019. All details are adjacent on the Reunion tab.

As always I really do need to get a reasonable understanding of numbers and of course for security at Whale Island main gate for entry for the reunion part of the day.

Please email in due course with names and numbers of those coming with you.

I look forward to seeing many of you again in May.

Take care

Yours Aye - Chairman
